Wow, this is insane. They should not have classes for ANY person under a legal age. Especially a nine year old! I don't know what this world is coming to.

Yeah I saw the video. I wonder why that they let her use that gun instead of a smaller, easier to handle weapon.

I support citizens having guns and think it would be ok to teach kid how to use them safely (though 9 years old is pushing it), but this just seems like it goes against all common sense. A 9 year old with an automatic? Why not wait until they are 13 or something? Why not a small, semi-auto pistol?

I read the article and I didn't see anywhere that the girl had any type of "gun experience" before so I dont understand why the instructor is teaching the 9 year old how to shoot/fire a automatic gun? I dont have a problem with her age since I was around the same age the first time I held and fired a gun but I just find it a bit strange that they didn't make her train with something less powerful. Its very sad that that happened

Another thing I see wrong with this, is that Uzi didn't have the training stock or vertical fore grip they put on at most shooting ranges for new time shooters. I've been to a few shooting ranges out of state and almost every one I went to, any high powered weapon or automatic, if it was your first time with that weapon, they encouraged a training stock (normally wooden) to be on it and a vertical fore grip. One more thing I notice that is wrong, is she is holding the weapon with both hands at the grip and trigger, while the instructor had his hand underneath the clip, which didn't look like he was even really holding it, most of resting it there, instead of having her hold it underneath the barrel. There are many things that could have been done to avoid this type of thing, granted I'm sure not a single person expected it to happen, but it seems like that shooting range wasn't really enforcing some common sense practice with such things.

I saw this on the news earlier tonight, it's pretty ridiculous

This was just a genuine mistake, Sure training a young girl on a 9mm Is difficult but she was being supervised and numerous adults were around. The man being killed by the poor little girl has nothing to do but bad luck, Recoil is scary when someone of small stature is behind the trigger that's why I am training my daughter with a .22 when shes old enough, That and she can tell her boyfriends "Daddy owns guns"
