Since an i7 can be afforded within your budget, you might as well get one. No need to spend so much on a motherboard. A CPU cooler will help if you're overclocking. Spending $135 on 2x4GB RAM is pointless, since you can spend $40 less and get just as good RAM. Also, if you're getting 16GB RAM, get 2x8GB, not 4x4GB. Purchasing 2x8GB in a specific 16GB kit would save almost $100 over buying two 8GB(2X4GB) kits. Although, 8GB RAM is more than enough for gaming so 16GB would be a pointless waste of money for a gaming build. Considering, a 1TB HDD is actually cheaper than that 750GB HDD, it would be stupid not to get a 1TB. Also, a $1750 build with no SSD? The R9 290 is a more powerful GPU than the GTX 770. No need for a full sized case, a mid sized ATX case will do perfectly fine. 850W PSU is also not needed as a quality 450W unit could easily power that PC.
