I think you should just get the trashcan Mac Pro and a Alienware laptop. Both are really good.

I understand he has to use the x99 platform... I never said go with the z97 or AMD 970. I know that the x99 is currently the only thing that supports DDR4. But this is mainly my mistake as I should of clearly stated go with x99 as well. But still if you read it I did say if you don't have a budget go with DDR4 Which implies that he has to go with the x99. Sorry I should of worded it better.
