You can get a free trial from Microsoft to use all of the Microsoft Office applications, if it's an emergency that would be your best option. Then when you have time you can find something better suited to your needs.

I have libre office installed. It is basically MS office and I just have those installed to open document files on my computer. I use google drive to create any files for school.

You could just use Google Docs. It has all the stuff MS Office has but it's free. And you can access it anywhere without hassle.

Agreed with Gigahertz, Google docs is free and much easier to use and very easy to send to your teachers for school.
