Does and legato record your TV or Xbox because I broke my TV and there is a line of dead pixels and I'm wanting to know if it will effect a recording...

No it won't effect your recording. It records everything's from your xbox, not your television, so you're fine.

If it recorded your TV the Elgato wouldn't need to be connected to your console. What I'm saying is it records from your console not TV.
