In the US, it's best to major in Computer Science then you can minor in stuff like Programming Language, AI, Systems, Theory, etc.

I don't really know what your long term plans are but you'd be probably be best doing A-levels in Computing/Computer Science along with Maths and another subject and then trying to go to university to study Computer Science as you learn a lot of that stuff there and it would definitely help you get on the right path in terms of getting a career in that field if that's what interests you.

Some colleges offer a Computer Games Development course, It's level 3, and can get you into University if you work hard enough, on the course you will learn everything from 3D Modelling & Environments to Java programming. Worth a look at if you are interested in it.

Really depends on you personality. Are you good at math? Go or Game Development. Otherwise look into software engineering, it's pretty fun aswell. Webdevelopment is in my opinion the easiest to learn, but tge posibilities are limited compared to other forms of development. Altough i might say that i love webdevelopment the most. Since HTML5 the web capabilities expanded enormously. There is a guy who made Quake and Red Alert as browser game with just Javascript and HTML.

You wont get into a redbrick without doing Maths/Physics at a-level and getting an A in it.

CS at a-level is good, but easy, so Uni's don't rate it anywhere near like physics/maths.
