I need some help with this. I'm getting this chip ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ). But I need a budget cooler thats cheap enough but good enough to get a maximum overclock. Budget is ~$75 (Canadian)
NOTE: My room stays around 15C in the winter and around 20C in the summer.
(Case is a NZXT Phantom 530 [ [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ]
Motherboard is an ASRock Z97-A [ [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ])

For a maximum overclock on that chip, you going to need something extreme like LN2
But in the real world, thats going to be about as good as your going to get for air coolers.
If you want to spend a bit more, you can get the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] water cooler.

Found some benchmarks for the shadow rock 2 cooler
Overclocked
Stock
I cant find decent reviews for the coolermaster Seidon but I know for a fact that its pretty good for the price since I myself have one. But, since im on a different platform to you [AM3+] my temps wont be relevant to you.

Okay so I believe I should reference what I mean by "Maximum Overclock."
Which is my bad I'm completely sorry .
What I mean by Maximum overclock is ~4.5GHz.
I plan on doing a lot of rendering for high quality YouTube videos and such so I need a pretty fair overclock.
Sorry for any at all confusion.
(Thank you very much for the benchmarks. I'd probably prefer water-cooling. I could maybe go to $60 or $70. I didn't think cooling would be very expensive :O)

Its fine, I understood what you meant. Just having a bit of fun ^^
When you get a cooler, dont aim for a certain overclock. You might get there easily or you might not. It depends on your chip.
Also, you get what you pay for when it comes to cooling. More is usually better.
Again, I cant comment on how well you will do since Ive never been on the 1150 platform.

I could maybe go for the price of an H60. I've heard good stuff about the Corsair H-Series. And if it is appropriate?

The H60 performs about as well as the CM Hyper 212 Evo and is almost twice the price. High-end AIOs like the H100(i) are the only ones you should bother with IMO.
You can get a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 for less than $75. This appears to be the best option for that price according to PCPartPicker.
