You can have backwindows tinted as dark as you want. But front windows there is a limit

Its different for each state. In virginia (where i live) its 50% in the front and 35% in the back.

But on my car, I have 18% on the back 3 and 35% on the front two.

In my state (CA) you cannot have your front windows or yuour windshield tinted, but anything else is fine. You can also get a doctor's note and have tint for "safety" which i have.
I have 30% on the front window, 10% back window and sides

One of my friends has the all the car windows tinted, and you can't even see in the back from outside. However he says he just rides with the front two down all the time and hasn't had any trouble.

My dad actually got pulled over a few days ago for having illegal tint. He has 15% tint, and the maximum is 25%.
