i haven't got enough memory on my phone to install ios8, and to gain the memory i would need to delete all my photos & music! can i just put all of that onto my computer, install ios8 then put them back on or will that not work? thanks

Well you can definitely back them up on your computer. I really don't know how IOS8 is going to handle/take up memory itself, but I would presume that you could simply put everything back on your device without to much trouble once it's installed.

Yes, you can put them all back on afterward. It just needs all that extra space to install, the actual OS doesn't use that much space.
