Case: NZXT Phantom 630

Computer will be on thin carpet. So thin infact, it's more-or-less flat. Is it safe to bottom-mount the PSU?

Oh, the case has a filter beneath the psu if that changes anything.

I'll try and take a picture at some point if strictly necessary

Thank you.

I did the same thing with my build. Didn't have a problem.

I prefer to use the PSU as an outlet for hot air exhausted by the graphics card due to positive pressure in the case. More importantly, flipping the PSU can often make cables have more or less slack and in some cases, determine whether you can route them where you want to.

My brothers PC had a bottom mounted PSU for a few years. He was having issues such as BSOD & random turn offs. It took me a while to distinguish that the PSU was not getting enough air, not helped by the fact that the dust inside the filter was unreal.

Since I've flipped it back and gave it a good clean, all is well.

So if you do mount it with the fan at the bottom, make sure it has enough air.
