-Nightmare wrote No you won't, as loot is client based. What that means is, if you kill the enemy, the loot will appear on your screen and vice versa. That's why more than one person can open a chest and still get loot, it's all based on what you see and what you do.

tl;dr: If your friend gets the kills, he gets the drops.

He didn't ask if you will get the same drops he asked if he will get engrams if his friend simply kills the enemies. The answer is yes.

Loot isn't shared = friend kills don't get you loot = no you won't get loot.

Think I'm lying? Go find someone to play with and when you see an engram drop, ask them if they see it too. I've played the Beta for every day it was up and I've been playing the final release since launch, and not once has any of my friends seen drops from enemies I've killed.

What part of this don't you understand? I never said loot was shared nor did I say you will get the same drops. I'm implying that if Robby kills an Acolyte for Johnny then an engram may still drop.

:suicide:

Let me put this in layman's terms:
If friend killy dood, he get loot. no loot 4 u cus u no kill dood, friend did. no may still get loot, no loot 4 everyone 2 see... friend get loot, end of.

Understand now?

I will literally record myself getting drops from another person in my fireteam killing these acolytes if you're going to be ignorant.

I'm not being ignorant.

If you want to prove your point so badly, please, go record to your heart's consent. If you prove me wrong, great -- I'll man up to it and admit my fault. Until then, I'm sticking with what I know and have seen first hand.

You can get drops just by staring into the cave at the enemies, you don't have to even play if you want to be that kind of person... But I went to grab something to drink, came back and there were 3 greens and a Blue that weren't in there when I left.

I can record also, just to prove it actually works, and I was also playing with complete randoms too.

Edit: Just did it and within the first 10 minutes got 4-5 greens 1 Blue and 2 Legendaries, will upload it to show you that you don't need to shoot at all.

your arguing different things. It is client side but as long as your close enemies still can drop engrams without you getting kills just not the same ones or the same time as your friends might see.

dude you're wrong. if you're in proximity of a person it doesn't even matter if you're in their fire team you will get drops. i will walk over to the hive farming spot and afk for drops and glimmer. just stop while you're behind.

You're so ignorant. Drops can be from others kills.

I vouch that you don't have to shoot to get Rare's and Legendary's.

If you really pay attention when ever you get headshots and a Legendary drop falls a Special sound goes off and I found out about this in Nexus Strike Farming... I didn't shoot my gun for 4 straight rounds and got a Legendary drop and it was from my friend doing his Warlock Special
