No, it doesn't... it all matters on your overall level and cryptarch level.

I got 8 legendaries on Saturday from doing this and in the time I was doing it I figured out some things.
1. If you stand to close it will double their time it takes to spawn and in end slowing the farm.
2. If you are not getting anything then go to orbit and back to the farm because every once and a while you have a decreased drop chance especially when you have multiple people in a fireteam, one person in the group always seems to get a lot less stuff even if he is high cryptarch level.
3. If you stay there a long time without leaving area sometimes it will glitch and make a bunch of guys spawn to the door to the left, behind the fallen pillar, and when these guys spawn stop killing the other guys in farm location and start killing the guys coming out the door cause they spawn exactly when you kill them so if you can kill them quickly you can get stuff ALOT faster then other farm.

I've gotten like 10 legendaries altogether now.

Also, engrams are going to be patched soon.
Engram drops won't be anymore so farm whilst you can.

Where did you get this information? Why would they get rid of something that was in the game from launch there is no reason to it's easily one of the best way to get weapons and armor besides buying things with glimmer which would require farming so what are they gonna do next get rid of glimmer? You're definitely wrong on that they wouldn't get rid of one of the biggest ways to acquire rare and good items.

Wow well thanks for letting me know what confuses me about that is they called them "glitches" which is completely wrong you aren't obtaining things in an untimely fashion or faster then the average player would you still have to get lucky and take a lot or a significant amount of time out of your day to grind and get them they should just lower the chances of getting them while farming or lower the spawn rate at the farming areas.

Yea it could possibly ruin the game to be honest it was really the only thing people were doing to get good items i hope they replace it with something or make the mission or crucible rewards better.

Yeah because imagine how long it'll take to level up then... it's be stupid.
People won't enjoy it as much.
