It's compatible but you could do better. I'll help you with a build but first, will you be overclocking the CPU at all?

I've been told to replace the 780 with the 970 and Corsair Vengeance ddr3's with the ones I had originally, also in this build is the case that I would like. someone told me that in the first build the mobo wasn't compatible with the i5 that's why I changed the motherboard in this build.

Of course the motherboard was compatible.It's S1150. Who told you it wasn't? The first mobo was better. That case lookslike poo. The GTX 970 or 980 is the way to go now. If you don't know much about overclocking and don't have any experience, I wouldn't bother with it just quite yet if I were you. The PSU in the first isn't great. The 2nd is better. The 256GB version of the same model SSD(MX100) is only £75 or so, I'd get that instead of paying £55 for the 128GB version. I'd also get a better CPU cooler. If you want, I have a compatible motherboard and an i5 that I'm getting rid of. They've been barely used(seriously) and I'm selling 'em at around 20% less than they go for on eBay. Just a thought, would save you some money to put towards your GPU, maybe allow you to upgrade the 970 to a 980.

okay thanks didn't realise I could upgrade to a 256gb for that little of a price and the only reason I like the case is because I have a pretty dark room so with it lighting up a bit I thought it would look nice, what case would you go for? and what CPU cooler shall I get instead then. I take you up on that offer but I don't get my money for this build for like another month soo if you want the money soon your better off selling it to someone else or if not ill happily take it off your hands at a later date

It's up to you. I have an i5 and Z97 chipset board. I'm changing my build entirely so I'm letting 'em go uber cheap so other people get good deals. I'm in no real rush to sell them but someone might ask about it before then.

£76, definitely worth the extra £20 over the 128GB. I'm getting the 256GB MX100 myself.
If you're going to overclock a 4690k, I'd spend a little more and get something like a H100i. If you're not overclocking too much, or not at all, the Seidon will be fine. It's not the case that lights up, it's LED fans. Check out the NZXT H440 and NZXT S340. Both really nice cases. If you really want LED's in there, you can buy a 1m or 2m LED strip and you can buy LED fans.

ohh the NZXT H440 matte black looks sweet defiantly switching to that and is it easy to fit the fans and led strips. just came across them on scan and there pretty cheap. what size would I need to get the 120mm-130mm or 80mm-100mm?

No bother. Yeah, that's the one. Although, eBuyer have a great deal on one right now, if you have themoney, grab this now, while you can;

LED strips are easy to install, as are fans. With the NZXT H440, I'd go with either 120mm or 140mm fans, whichever you prefer.
