For AT&T there is a link they can email to you in which you click it gives you a code and you type that code in and it unlocks the phone from the service provider, I did this and it works completely free.

Kimbrel wrote It's not possible to unlock your phone for free. If your phone company told you it was possible, they were lying or they're clueless. I'm pretty sure the phone company itself can unlock the phone, but they never do it for free.

Not true. I've never in my life paid for service on an iPhone and I've owned at least 50 iPhones. Each type you can have excluding the 6 and 6+

just YouTube it and include the type of iPhone you have in the search. I always just unlocked by connecting to my wifi. Or just find a friend who has a sim and have them unlock it for you

Take it to one of them phone shops that sells accessories and does 3rd party repairs or modifications they will be able to unlock it if possible. You will still need to pay them but it should be less than the network.

In Ireland if your with Vodafone IE for 1 year you can get a free unlock code?
Should be the same for Vodafone UK,
Just log in to your Account and have a look in your account.
Probably not much help
