Standard-definition television (SDTV) is a television system that uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high-definition television (HDTV 720p, 1080i, and 1080p) or enhanced-definition television (EDTV 480p).

So basically high definition gives you more pixels and therefore a sharper image on the screen.

It depends entirely on what he means by 'Better.'
If he means picture quality then he's wrong, but I'm guessing he means something else.

Yeah its all pretty dumb he states that the picture quality is better but says he doesnt like the way things look different because he cant really adjust to new stuff and hates it because his resolution was set up weird and he got used to it so now that its normal he hates it lol

Stronk wrote SD is for Standered Definition , HD is for High definition, you are incorrect but this is nothing to be ashamed of, HD is better 100%. SD is Recommended for older TV models, HD is for LCD/HDTV's (Flat screens)

Well im not that dumb i know the basics lol

Anyone that says SD is better than HD obviously doesn't have access to HD. I remember the first time I played Call of Duty with an HDMI cord instead of RCA cords, it was a completely different world. I'll never go back to SD.

Simple answer is ... face palm
High definition
Standard definition
If we don't look at the word definition
Standard obviously seems worse than high
Hd for example 1080p is more than 480p so if you had a 22 inch screen a higher resolution screen would have more pixels making the image appear sharper and it would make the media views on the screen appear to have more details

As will I. Once you go HD, you can't ever go back lol

Ask him if he was talking about pixel definition or something or if he was saying that SD is higher quality than HD.
