Hey guys, I have an iPhone 5s with 8.0.2, and I am using a genuine Belking Lightning to USB cord for charging (Belkins site says it is Apple certified) and it will not charge in a wall outlet or via PC USB port. The only way I can get it to charge is if I plug the USB into the charging port for my astros on the astro Mixamp, and even when I do this the charge goes down as I use it even tho it says charging. Sometimes I will get a message that says this device is not supported when I try and plug into wall or PC. Also, it does charge through wall outlet if the phone is off? I'm very confused and I'd like to be able to charge my phone while it's on.

the wires in the cord could be bent over try holding the cord in place with sticky tape or just buy a new cord

Cord is brand new. Wires definitely not bet. Could it be that for the wall outlet I'm using an old LG phone charger thing with a USB port on it? But even then that doesn't explain the not charging on a PC? My dad has a surge protector with just USB ports on it and I plugged into that and it works?

Apple is trying to make where you can only use their charging stuff. Very bad for the after market people.

Yeah it works if I use an apple wall adapter. I had been using an LG before. Oh well.
