Im sorry but my respect for the Police has gone away today. Today during dinner at a local restaurant my car was broken into. The window was shattered and the person stole my $1100 computer and all my college books. The surveillance video caught the man and clearly the man looked identifiable. The police officer looked at me and said sorry we can't do anything about this. im just yeah.... slowly wanting to erupt.

Well in the US they do sound very unhelpful. In the UK they are actually really good and they will go the extra mile for you in some cases.

I know how you feel bro I git a brick put threw my rear window and they were caught on cctv and they did nothing about it and I had to pay to get a new boot as the glass on my car couldn't be touched so paid around 300 for a full new boot, Some police are good but you always have a few that can never do there jobs right and don't even know the law them self's.

People tend to focus on the tiny percentage of cops that disregard the Constitution or whatever rights system you have. The vast majority of them are good people who know your rights and do the dirty work so you don't have to. I like this quote.

"We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us."

What could they have done? Think about it. There is no "facial recognition database", security camera footage is usually low resolution, and they probably didn't get any ID like a license plate from cameras. The best they could have done is put up posters or mention it on the local news, which would more than likely be a complete waste of resources.

Never liked them never will. The only "Officer" I've ever really talked to is the 'resource officer' at my school. He's pretty cool because he's chill and knows whats up.

You've never liked them, even though you've never met one, or dealt with one, in person?
Seeing some videos of them beating people up gives you a confirmation bias. You see it happen more, so you think it happens more.

Saying you will never like them probably wasn't meant literally, just as fluff to make your statement more concrete, but saying you will never change your opinion on something is quite silly, mainly because you aren't capable of precognition, but also because opinions are, by definition, susceptible to change whether we want them to, or not.

You never realize how imperative police officers are until they actually help you. If you were getting robbed at an ATM and a police officer came and saved you, you will begin to realize how important the help of police officers are.

Some people truly don't begin to appreciate them until the police helps you, with some even being able to save lives.
