GTX770 SLI will probably perform better but bear in mind the heat output, power requirement and spacing required for those cards to work efficiently in a dual card config. Me personally would have one GTX980.

One GTX 980 will have around the same performance as SLI GTX 770'S. However, I'd personally rather have a single card than dual cards, since SLI can cause some minor issues. The GTX 980 uses less power than SLI 770's and is much more efficient.

Also if you use dual cards in a system its similar to being the guy at a party who says "Yes, I love computers, they are my hobby".

Also its worth noting the GTX980 will let you use 4GB VRAM but SLI does not double the amount of VRAM the cards have, it uses the same amount as the smallest card has (2GB in this case)

Lol I agree. It's just that I already bought a 770 a while back but want better performance. I'd have to sell my current one to grab a 980, but it'd be a hassle. Might just grab another 770 for near equal performance.

I like having just one. That would be my suggestion though.

If you do want two cards just make sure that your power supply will meet the cards requirements, that your motherboard supports SLI and that your case has adequate airflow.

If you already have a 770, it's easier to and cheaper just to add another, as long as your PC will support SLI 770's.
