But on a serious note, it all really comes down to what a person wants to look like, either you can have a samsung and just look like a normal person, but when it comes down to the iPhone's people think if they have the latest iPhone they will be "Cooler" or something along them lines. And apple take full advantage of people, because not many people know that iPhones are really far from being the "Best" on the market. Even knowing reviews bump it up, and make it seem like it is.
This seems incredibly bias towards samsung and I own an s5. People don't buy iphones to look cooler, some people prefer the easier to use OS and the more reliable OS (much harder to get viruses. Partly because it is more limited). It also has to do with iphones being the first smart phone on the market and because people saw them as evolutionary they will be less inclined to try something new.
An iPhone is not really less likely to get viruses, same with iOS. I think I've explained this a ton of times on here already.
Suffice it to say, the goal of a virus is to spread as fast and as much as possible. Targeting popular platforms are easier to reach that goal, then to target the minority platforms.
Thus why Linux is the most secure system, with something like a 5% percentage of the world using this platform, as well as making it insanely hard to run a program without knowing it.
It's easy to find statistics to back up what I'm saying, so if anyone refutes this, provide something to back your claims up.
Regardless, Android is relatively hard to get a virus on, you have to have no idea what your doing to receive viruses. I've had an Android for about 6 years now and can safely say I've never had a virus, even when I have rooted devices.
They actually state the apps permissions when you install them.
Regardless, it is capitalism. They know they can charge this much without many complaints.
Is it right? In my opinion, no. They can still make a massive profit by making prices on their phones competitive with comparable other phone brands. They already have cheap labor from sweat shops over seas.
