I have a lot of ideas for games that I think would be great I also have a lot of ideas for things that I think consoles and companies could really take advantage of however I have tried dabbing into programming, concept art, and modeling I just really can't find anything that really grabs my interest. So my question is is there still a place for me in the gaming industry and where would that be? Or am I more likely to be that guy on suggestion forums all day giving suggestions to improve programs for free?

well first learn the basics, im a engineer, my job and i do it as i love hardware, but for coding/ programming first learn java and c#, most commonly used languages for programming

loads of free sites, to many to list, but a quick google will help, if you find its not something your interested in, you could look into actually selling your ideas, but that needs to be done in a correct way which even i dont personally know how to do. but if its something you might be looking at im sure someone can guide you in the right direction

(i did programming and have been and still do hardware diagnostics and designs)

For the engineering that is the hardware design aspect correct? And what Engineering would be best for computer parts and such? Also I'm not sure about your schooling but do you know of any schooling where you can just go straight to the Engineering and skip General Education?

Computer engineering is CS with some EE added on. As for finding a way to skip the garbage classes required by the broken college system, good luck. Be prepared to take a few idiotic classes that you will take nothing from.

Idea guys don't exist in the industry. If you're considering taking up a program like computer engineering, you should be very interested and prepared to really buy into your studies. It's a lot of calculus and difficult EE classes on top of a CS course load. It's good if you want to take classes for both EE and CS and then switch without skipping a beat to the one you find you prefer. I found that I'm more interested in the CS job market, so I'll soon be switching from CE to CS.
