In my recent thread I said that I had an Intel CPU but it's actually an AMD.
Anyways, Im Buying this PC for $385 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and moving it into the HAF X case. I'm upgrading the GPU because I want something better. The reason I made this new topic is because It's AMD, not Intel. Would this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] work with AMD? Would I need to upgrade the PSU or anything else for this to work?

You are wasting your time and money by using that prebuilt. What's your full budget and will you be needing peripherals?

I wasn't wanting to spend more than 900 right off the bat. I will eventually upgrade things in the future. I wanted something that would work nicely for at least 6months, then i'd start upgrading.

If you plan on overclocking and getting a SSD later along with cooling then this should be adequate.

If you have an HDD that you can just reuse for extra necessary storage then here's a build with a SSD.

I made a similar build, What's your opinion?

Did you leave out a case in that build intentionally?

I'd replace that PSU with either of these, much better quality than those Rosewill "PSUs".

Wasting money on that pre-built is pointless, especially since you plan on swapping a bunch of stuff anyway. Do not buy a 750W PSU, you won't need it unless you plan on running a dual card rig.

That is a pretty big claim without any proof. By the way, the Capstone series competes with Corsair's AX series. (AX series are better than the HX series.)

OP; I would build this instead. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
However you will need to update the BIOS, which is found here. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Thanks to everyone for helping me. The main questions I have are, what is the best motherboard for around 100-120? Does it really matter? How many fans do I need and is there a certain brand that's best? Also, I've read quite a few reviews on [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and many people are having it die on them. Is there a different one that is more reliable?

Try to extend your budget to allow for an i5-4690k and a Z97 chipset motherboard so that you have overclocking support in case you ever want it. I've been using Seagate Barracuda drives forever, seriously, and I've never had one fail on me. Keep in mind, PC parts can die, it happens. If you buy a HDD and it is DOA, return it for a replacement. Their isn't a specific company that make the 'best' fans. Noctua have a good reputation for fans, but they're not very pretty or cheap. Regardless of company, you should expect to pay quite a bit for good case fans, but not all expensive fans are good.
