Doesnt work very well being carried at some extent , plus the game is very forgiving and generous with XP out put.

You are right. He could do the missions on Hard (starting from the beginning) & have the higher level help him out.

Can pretty easy solo them on hard up until doing a bit on mars i found as still pretty easy if you just hide in cover for shield recharge now and then

But with how the game decides monsters do %based damage most the time and players just to what ever it feels like letting you hit regardless of level can be a bit annoying, id suggest once they are high enough to earn XP from crucible matches to just have a bash on that for a bit for some gear and some good xp to skip a few levels

So can anybody help me so I can change difficulty Im only level 4
