Terrabytez wrote Oh, and although the rotary engine is nice, the amount of oil that she uses is unreal. Like previously mentioned, unless you can 100% afford all of the insurance, maintenance and fuel, don't bother.
Unfortunately, a first car isn't meant to be nice because until you are 19/20, insurance is a *****.

I 80% sure ill be able to afford insurance, fuel thought wont be that big of an issue as it would only be used for school and back. and the odd weekend drive.

Rotarys are not that good for on and off short distance travel. Not sure about the renesis in particular but I have heard they are not that great at least the early models. Rotarys shouldn't be turned off before they hit their average running temperature. My first car is a rotary so im not saying don't get it, you just have to be sure you know about them and understand you can't treat them like a piston engine.

If you are using it for that then you are throwing away money in my opinion but hey if you like it and can afford it get it.

Thats a good car, reliable and all. But it comes to a PRICE. Extremely high insurance and when something breaks down it will cost you a fortune.

Stanced- wrote insurance wont be high. they did that for a reason. it has 4 doors not much hp on books but also a small engine. youll be fine for insurance!

It has a 2.6L engine and I believe they range from 192-231 horsepower. When they first came out they where seen as a 1.3L but the insurance companies wised up. Plus they are in a high insurance group, which will make it rather expensive for a new driver and it's in a very high tax band (500 a year).

I understand it'll probably be like 3+ Grand for the insurance, but i don't mind monthly payments.

Unless you know someone high up at an insurance company it will be a lot more than 3k, probably 8k+

I was quoted 2k on an RX-8 and I have two years no claims.

I did come across a quote for 5K, i was thinking about getting it in my mothers name and having me put down as the second driver.
