I don't know how many of you heard, but there was another Police involved fatal shooting of a teen in St. Louis today, and once again the protesters were up in arms. Please Read the article below and watch the video included in it.

I like how recently people have been up-in-arms at police for the killing of Michael Brown, which I will not talk about because not all the facts are known in that case yet, but people tend to argue the wrong point. Police have confirmed that there was an altercation between the officer and Brown, and the only reason that officer might be in trouble is not because he shot the teen in the first place, its because people claim he shot Brown when he had his hands in the air. But anyway, back to my rant.
People were protesting here, clearly abusing the police in the video about the killing of the man. Why? That is my only question. The cop was fired upon and shot back, just he is trained in how to aim so he can hit is target. I also really enjoyed in the video that they clearly said that the suspect was a black male, and the cop was white. WHO CARES? The suspect FIRED upon a officer in uniform, and was killed. END OF STORY. This is not a race motivated shooting on the part of the officer. No cop wakes up and says "Good-morning, today is the day I'm going to shoot a _____ guy because I'm _______." NEVER. Was he not justified? If you were in his shoes do you think that you would do the same? Its called self-defense.
Another shooting that happened was one only a couple days after Browns death was the officer shooting of a mentally disturbed man who had walked toward them with a knife. The police were criticized for not realizing that the man was mentally ill, and they should know their communities better. Ok well here are some stats on St. Louis:
Unemployment: 10% National: 5.9%
Crime Rate: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
People tend to hate on the police for abusing their power, but everyone here knows that this is not always the case. I have gotten a ticket before for speeding, and to be honest, wanted to kill that cop. (Metaphorically)
But I was speeding, and even though I was mad at that cop, I was happy that there was one there enforcing the law, because the next time I go to cross that street, I know that people will stop because they don't know who is watching.
Lower income cities then to have higher crime rates, which requires stricter police enforcement. This means that the people feel that they are being oppressed by the police. But here, there are clear facts that the police acted justly. Why do the people feel the need to harass the police for doing their job?

I agree that too many people hate police officers for the wrong reason, however I don't agree with one of the points you brought up*.
Ferguson is a blatantly racist city and the statistics don't lie.
2013:
Black people arrested: 482
White people arrested: 36
92% of all searches were on black people.
86% of car stops were on black people.
Only 3 out of 53 people in the police force are black.
That is the literal definition of institutionalized racism.

Most police are OK but some can be total and utter bastards.
Where I come from, the police in Scotland are 50/50, some are OK and some harass you for no reason. For example, I've been subject to a "random stop and search" on several occasions, one occasion in particular I was waiting for a bus with friends and the police who pulled us over where complete and utter pigs, they had us standing there for 10 minutes and when the bus came they did not allow us to get on because they where still taking forever to do unnecessary warrant checks. The warrant checks come back clean and we are left waiting another 30 minutes, that in my opinion is police harassment. The logical thing to do would be to let us board the bus and follow the bus if anything came back.
Personally I believe I have good reason to dislike the police, not saying I HATE them or I'm anti-police, but the ones who do or act like this really annoy me.

I might be wrong but isnt 90% of the population in ferguson black, so no wonder why they arrested more black people?

You are wrong.
Just over 65% of the population is black.
That is more than 50%, however it still doesn't equal-out these lopsided statistics.

It all depends on how you are brought up too.
I was brought up by a lenient childhood, so I chose to abuse some rules although wisely e.g. spray painting someone's house, setting fire to someone's garage etc. I wasn't specifically a violent type, however when I was confronted in a violent manor (for example someone shot towards me) almost 90% depending on the situation I'd fire back since my and other peoples life are at risk. I think what the officer did (baring in mind all we know is the youth fired towards him) chose a wise decision. Although 99% of the police down where I live are corrupt (Proof was destroyed BY The police) I still believe what this officer did was a good decision. Rest in peace to the bloke who was shot and my thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Lavish wroteWell thanks for updating my knowledge ;), but think of it this way aswell, black people "could" find it harder to get a job in that certain area and may have to resort to crime to be able to live? I'm not saying that's the reason but could mean the uneven.derek1574 wrote I might be wrong but isnt 90% of the population in ferguson black, so no wonder why they arrested more black people?

I despise the police, hate me for it I don't care. I live in southern California so it might be hard for some people to understand, especially when they live in richer areas of the country. But, over here, they are ridiculous. I know my rights and I ALWAYS turn on my phone's camera, so I never get in trouble or anything, but it's the way they try and abuse the little to no power they think they have.
I can go on and on with stories of why I hate them, but at the end of the day, everyone will be against me so it would be rather pointless. And theirs always the people that say "they only show corrupt cops on the media" or "Just because one video shows a cop like that, doesn't mean they all are". Which I'm not saying they are, but I'd say 99% are just from experience.... especially Gang Unit. Most of the cops around here I can tell we're the dbags in high school with no education and no plans for the future.
