I have all the materials I need to make a network (or individual server).
What I am looking for is ideas of any games, gametypes, minigames or anything that you would enjoy. Preferably nothing that is already on servers at all. I am willing to program the whole minigame and infrastructure of the server and hopefully get it up and running soon. pitch ideas in the comments.

A Server type that I sometmes see a lot, but when it is rarely executed correctly so it makes for a boring experience when it's not done correctly, is PvE based Survival.

Yeah Survival is way overdone, but it's an influx of all the badly ran survival Free for all servers that have given it a bad name. Remember that people play minecraft because they like minecraft. Not because they like grinding 50 levels to unlock some new rank or buying items with real money. Make sure you and your community are on the same page with what everyone wants. PvE Based servers are more likely to make a more friendly, cooperative, community that will enjoy their experience much more. Rather than just getting killed by some OP Faction and hiding in a hole underground.

Another idea that could be a little uninviting at first, is a Death Ban server. I always liked these, and enjoyed the challenge.

I'm sure you know of this as you seem to be experienced with Servers, but the best advice I can give to soon to be server owners is:
    1. Have a realistic and reachable goal
    2. Have a purpose, don't make a server just to make a server
    3. Success =/= Easy, hard work is required
    4. Be unique and original in (almost) everything you do, take a risk with an idea.
    5. Have a Plan for what you want to get done
    6. Being an Admin is easy, being a good Admin is hard. Be as fair and level headed as possible.
    7. Have a focus on a mature and positive community.
    8. Remember that it's not "your" server, it's "everyone's" server.

Some of the best advice i have heard in a long time. Anyone thinking about making a server or wanting to become an Admin should defiantly look at this and make use of it!
