I am currently running the Fx 6300 but when I brought the motherboard it was at the low end so I want to upgrade my motherboard but keep the 6300 and maybe swap it out for a 9590 later.

Is this okay?

Will it effect the cpu in any way?

P.S im also getting a new case and water cooling so I can over clock.

if it's compatible you can carry it right over, you can check on the motherboards support page for what CPUs it supports.

I wouldn't put that CPU on any old Motherboard.

If its cheap, it will do more damage than good.

What motherboard do you have?
