So yesterday i cracked my iphone 6 screen pretty bad. it still seems to be working fine so i was wondering if this is all i need to buy ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )

And how hard is it to change the screen myself so i don't have to pay so much money for apple to do it.

Cases, are really handy.
Though you said screen protectors only stop from scratches which is false, it absorbs a partial amount of resistance from the drop. It stops the screen from obtaining 100% of the shock and the plastic protector contains the cracks.

i know a chick who did it herself and she's not exactly a tech-wizard so you should be fine. You just need the right tools.

You must be incredibly careful, I know a guy who is a tech guy, always really careful with his stuff, a small movement and the WiFi got detached and almost ruined it completely.

If you do plan on doing it yourself, be careful.

That is not all you need to buy, that is just a glass lens so that does not have the LCD, frame, or the optically clear adhesive that bonds the glass lens to the LCD.

The part you need looks like this...

This supplier also has them for cheaper($279) but there is something 'off' looking about the screen

As far as the repair goes it's just like taking apart a big iPhone 5.


Edit: I would recommend going to apple. It'll be easier, probably close to the same price, and you don't have to fiddle with repairing it yourself.

If you have warranty apple is now fixing that stuff for $25.
I asked yesterday.
You need their apple car or first year of warranty though

Just buy a replacement screen and replace it.
