For compatible notes it says ASRock Z97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard has onboard USB 3.0 headers, but the Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports. Will this be a problem or is it all good?

QWRTY wrote I have to ask, do you plan to edit/livestream on this PC also? If so I would go with something like:

This goes slightly above budget ($740.90, could drop at Christmas or whatever) but if you ever want to edit, livestream or something like that you will need at least an i5 imo. (overclock the i5 to about 4.0GHz with the Hyper 212 and it will destroy any game you throw at it)

'fraid not, not with a GTX 750 Ti. Going with the G3258 and an R9 290 is much a wiser decision. The majority of games don't need more than 2 cores, and an R9 290 is significantly more powerful than a GTX 750 Ti. Plus, it's much easier and wiser to get a strong GPU now and upgrade to an i7, rather than a weak GPU and an i5 and have to upgrade GPU much sooner, as well as possibly upgrade CPU. The G3258 will handle games perfectly fine, especially paired with an R9 290.

I agree with your opinion of an R9 290 with a Pentium for gaming. But a Pentium will get trashed as regards livestreaming / editing.

I also just figured out that the 750Ti is no longer as good for gaming, that's ok.

Now, I have come up with a new build. This is not within the budget ($300 more), but it is not far from it, and you get a quality build with good livestream/editing potential. If you can, try save that bit more. If you don't plan to edit or anything, as I have said, just go with Sanctyy's build for gaming and you will be set for a while.

First of all, it's 50% over budget so it definitely is "far from it". It also still has an inferior GPU to the one in my suggestion, the R9 290 beats the GTX 770 easily. I also wouldn't suggest a low end air cooler for overclocking an i5-4690k. The 4690k wouldn't "trash" the G3258 in editing/livestreaming. OP never even mentioned any interest in editing or livestreaming anyway. If he was interested in it, then an i7 would be hugely beneficial for it, more so than an i5. This means going with my build and saving enough money to invest in an i7 in the future.

For $1000, this would be a much wiser investment;

get a larger capacity SSD, possibly invest in a better case. Add a decent CPU cooler when ready to overclock the 4790k.

I think i'm gonna wait a month or two before i buy these parts and hopefully the price goes down a little. And also are there any specific CPU coolers that you would recommend? Anything that's under 150 or if need 200. Same with the case anything under 200 or 150. I want to try to keep it kinda cheap. And for the SSD how much more should i add? Will another TB do?

I must have underestimated the Pentium then. As for cooling, a good water cooling solution for extreme OC is the Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler
