I am looking to build a brand new PC. I don't want the case to be anything too nerdy looking. I want it to look presentable. My budget is $1500-2000 nzd.

I primarily want it for gaming, video rendering/editing, recording, watching movies. Also if you could point me in the direction too a good monitor/mouse/keyboard/headset I would be much obliged. The screen and everything is not included into the PC budget. The budget is for the PC only.

I am looking to run games like DayZ mod, DayZ standalone, Rust, Battlefield 3&4, Crisis 3, H1Z1, Gta V and any new good games that come out on 60+fps on ultra. I am also wanting to record and upload videos to Youtube and Twitch. Thanks everyone =]

Shame both the above builds are in USD and not NZD. Since, your monitor, mouse and kb budget is outside your PC budget, it would help if we knew how much you're looking to spend on 'em. If price is no question, get this;

The PC is $2005NZD before the monitor, mouse and keyboard.

You have my permission to slap whoever told you that round the head.

The 970 is a great GPU and will outperform the 2 x 660s

Also, we always reccomend one stronger GPU over 2 weaker ones since it causes less issues

Sanctyy's build is about as good as your going to get

To add to Xiggy's point, if one of your friends told you they have a GTX 970 that's having issues, they're either lying or got a faulty card. GTX 970 will wipe the floor with SLI 660's. One stronger card always beats 2x weaker cards in SLI/Xfire, not always performance wise but a single card will have less errors/issues than 2x cards.

Alright I see. What about the GTX 780 Ti? If it is more than my budget I would be willing to go a little higher if it gives better frames, Also how much FPS will your build be clocking on games? Any general idea?

I wasn't really looking for a reason not too, if people say it is the best thing to get for a moderate price range then it will be what I get. I could also up my ram to 16gb, It would honestly take me like 1 extra week and I could have a little more to spend on the build.

So what if I raised my budget to say $2500 price range, What adjustments would you make to stancyys build? Or what build would you make with $2500 New Zealand Dollars.
