yeah people actually post in there and MAYBE get 2 views. Have you ever talked to people looking for a team? All they do is complain that nobody looks in the sticky

For the time being all the threads that are created asking to join up with other players will be deleted and you will have to use the sticky provided. If everyone who created a topic posted in the sticky instead then there would be no problem finding people to play with. Maybe in the near future people there will be no sticky and people could post that they're looking for players but all the topics that are actual discussion threads are getting pushed down because of the player finding threads. I know you do not like this and a few others as well but that's just how things are right now.
