Terrabytez wrote Yes, but the 9590 is A HUGE wast of money.... you have to have drunk bleach and lived to buy one because Intel provides a far better line-up. For example, The 9590 has the same architecture as an 8320, just better silicone and moar GHz. Intel's top of the line i7 (4790K or 5690X, whatever floats your boat here) pffer hyper-threading and a far greater performance per core, not mentioning AMD's stupid 220W TDP. Now don't get me wrong, I run a 6300 at 4.4GHz but I wish I went with Intel because the 8320 isn't worth the upgrade and if I want to see a performance boost, there is only one route in which I can take.

My desktop runs the FX 6300 right now, because it's my first home built gaming set up. And I agree, if I built it again I would go intel because there is a point where intel out performs AMD. However for the price range I was in ($700 or so), the FX6350 for $120 performs better than a lot of i5's for half the price. So I think AMD is better for a medium price range, and intel is better for higher price ranges.

That would have been the case 3/4 months ago.

But Intel released their beast of a chip, Pentiumg3258

That will out perform my 8320/8350/9370/9590
Depending on which day it is, My CPU can be any of these as they are the same chip. GG AMD GG

Which is why, in a few days, im retiring it and getting the almighty Pentium

Bleach wrote Where as the FX series AMD processors only has 4 or 5 (i think).
14, there are 14 CPU's in the FX series. Regardless, Intel still wins. The Pentium G3258 beats an FX-6350 hands down so a 4690k will have absolutely no trouble out-performing an FX-6350. Intel has much better upgrade options than AMD as well, so is a much, much wiser option. Granted, a few months back. The FX-4300 or FX-6300 were good CPU's since they were cheap and any build with a tight budget pretty much needed an AMD CPU. However, the G3258 is cheaper than both and out-performs them both so really, at this point, there is absolutely no reason not to go with Intel, unless you're an AMD fan boy. Although, that still isn't a valid reason.
