I plugged my iPod into my computer and there was something in the charge dock of the iPod (a piece of lint) so when I plugged it in (I had headphones on at the time) it made a weird sound through the headphones and began smoking. I took it out and waited for it to cool off and the screen was all white. I held down the Power and Home buttons, the screen went black. It won't turn on and won't show up on iTunes. I'm thinking about sending it in for a warranty, but it was Jailbroken (using Spirit). Is there any way to take away the Jailbreak? I know my rep isn't that impressive but I'm by no means a leech. Contribution here.

while still holding home connect the ipod to the computer, the itunes icon should appear with a cable and arrow

If it's jailbroken (firmware hacked), it won't meet warranty standards.
