They will be banned eventually if they play the iso online before release...but remember...thousands of people will get the retail copy at most a week early...so dont be surprised if u do see any 1st prestiges by monday

Well i just got a text from gamestop saying my order for the limited edition has arrived i can pick it up anytime so i prob would pick up Monday or Tuesday depends on the traffic in my area

Well when MW3 came out I was already first prestige because i received the game a week and a half early. But on the day of release they reset all the ranks and leaderboards. I wasn't banned but I had to rank up from level 1 again. I assume they will be doing that again because the devs seem pretty upset on Twitter about the leaks.

Having played multiple AAA games online several days before release date (GTA V, CoD MW2-Ghosts, Halo, Far Cry, Assassins Creed, FIFA, the list goes on and on), I have not once been banned or reset on any of those games. When I say several days before release, I mean around 4-7 days prior.

All of the people who are speculating above have probably never gone online prior to release date, and if you see people saying "You will definitely be banned", ignore them - they're fear-mongering and are most likely jealous that they are unable to play early themselves.

You said MW2-Ghosts so I am guessing you mean MW2 and all the CODs up until Ghosts. Well if you actually did you would remember that during MW3 all of us who were playing prior to release were reset and the leaderboards were wiped. (This was on 360 so I am not sure about PS3 if that is where you were playing.) So yes resets have happened but I cannot think of any bans that actually happened to me or anyone else I knew who was playing. Except for my idiot friends who were streaming it and making Youtube videos. Their accounts were deleted because you obviously can't show gameplay until release unless you have permission from the publisher.

Nope, I don't remember that. Pretty sure I was ~level 48 by the time release date came around.

I know for a fact that I wasn't reset on Black Ops II or Ghosts, though.

The game resets all levels in the launch patch idiots.
