yes. the normal chest will give you stuff but you get get hard mode only items. yes hard mode will give you better stuff.

Dont listen to that idiot, The chests once claimed on Normal will not give you ANYTHING on Hard. The check points however will still give you loot.

1 Reward from the first chest
2 Rewards for completing oracles
2 rewards for completing templar
1 reward from spirit bloom chest
2 Rewards from the first gorgons chest if you take the secret route
1 Reward from the second gorgons chest
2 rewards for the gatekeepers
2 rewards for atheon

Oh and I mean 2 sets of rewards or 1 set, like you can get 1 set of rewrds for atheon, E.G. 3 Shards and Chatterwhite.
