okay, so i shied away from modding for a while to work on school stuff and when i came back everything changed to the RTE tools and stuff and now we have to avoid KV stealers and stuffs. so im not a noob, just, was out of the loop for a while lol

so my question is, if i flash my new/unbanned KV to my nand, will that keep me safe from a RV stealer? like, i know just doing it the lazy way and puting it on your root is pretty much saying "hey bro look, a fresh KV for you to just go ahead and have" (but cmon, dont we all do that?) but i was wondering if flashing the new KV tp my nand would keep me safe, like if i use a tool with a KV stealer coded in will it just look for the KV file on the root and since nothing would be there it wouldn't send anything out to some Dbag?

side question for those that use Appnet

if i flash a new KV to my nand, will i still be able to use the Appnet tool on my console, or will it come up as being a different console completely?

sorry about it being a long post for such a simple question.

Flashing the KV completely protects you from this, yes. Make sure your KV isn't anywhere else on your console though.

Flashing the KV doesn't completely protect you. The KV is loaded into memory, so if you know where it is, you could steal it. However its alot harder to find and steal from memory, than it is to upload the kv file from the hdd. Therefore skids and most of the people who steal kvs will have no clue how to steal the kv from memory. So it is better to flash kvs. Also use JRPC V2, it prevents files being uploaded off the hdd.

flashing your KV to your nand is a lot safer than to just place on root.

But you have to also bear in mind that it must be the correct type KV for your console as in type 1 or type 2 KV

so if i just use JRPCv2 then i can put the KV on my root and be safe?
