Buxtyy wrote Its not a case of which is cheaper/easier to swap out when you want to upgrade, its a case of the Pentium not utilising the 970 fully.
I would rather sacrifise a little performance for a better potetial performing build. The z97 will be better for the long run if/when he wishes to overclock. The case has a lot more quality to it.

Op: its up to you. If your not going to oc go or upgrade to a better cpu anytime soon then go with buxtyy build.

But overclocking just won't make up for the lack of cores the Pentium has. Yes, one with a mid-high end card will run games decently but it just can't flex any muscle. If the OP was going for more than one monitor I would suggest a 970 over the i5 but the raw processing power would be better overall.

most people who get the pentium dont use it as a cpu that is going to be in there build for years. Its there so you can get a better gpu and you wont lose much money at all when it comes to upgrading which im sure op will do.

You are giving up quite a bit of GPU performance there.

However i think it would be a good idea to go with that build and AMD are going to be bringing out new GPU'S sooner that are going to more then likely beat the new nvidia ones for price to performance. So you should sell the 750ti put money towards one of the new AMD GPU's but the 750 ti will do you for now.

Get that instead

Yes i would.

The 4690k is a fantastic CPU make sure you overclock it. I'd advise getting an aftermarket cooler too.

Hyper 212 Evo are good budget ones. I'd also get the s340
