It has gotten to the time where I feel I need to upgrade my CPU into Intel due to the games I play that demand a lot more CPU power than the AMD one that I use provides (Arma series, DayZ standalone). As I do spend the majority of my time on the Arma games it seems like the necessary upgrade for me as it does not utilize the extra cores of the AMD products which render them pretty useless and give the result of near unplayable frame rates.

I was looking at going for an I5 minimum with this budget as I know it performs really well within the Arma series. But the problem that lies here is, I am not sure which to go with and which motherboard to pair it with so this leads me here.

Initial budget is 250 GBP for both the CPU and Motherboard. The plans to overclock are definitely there but not right away so if you're able to add in an aftermarket cooler for that price then that'd be great but not required as it can be gotten at another point when I am confident enough to overclock.

Current specs:

Case: Cooler Master N200
CPU: AMD FX 8320
GPU: R9 270X Hawk
RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance
PSU: 550W XFX Core Edition
HDD: 1TB Seagate

Keep in mind, a GPU upgrade might be a wise choice, with your budget you could get a GTX 970 which is a fantastic card. As for a CPU upgrade, I'd go with this;

and get the CPU from Amazon, here;

Update motherboard BIOS and you're set, you can overclock the 4690k when you wish.
It's £20 over, but worth it. If you can't go £20 over, leave out the cooler and don't bother overclocking. Then, you can save for a decent CPU cooler and you can overclock.

That price is definitely doable as I did expect the price would go over.

Curiosity is leading me to ask this next question, will the ATX motherboard fit in the case? I checked the manufacturer's page and it says the motherboard types that it supports is a microATX and Mini-ITX.

Crap, sorry, I read N300 instead of N200, my bad, oops. Leave the CPU cooler for now, and get this instead;
