I figured this was probably the best place to ask this as you guys know about cooling.
I am making a cooling stand at school ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is a screenshot of a 3d model, it's an old screenshot but you get the idea)
I just wanted to know whether it would be more effective to have the fans blow towards the laptop, or suck away.
I have tried Googling it but I just get both answers - personally I always thought sucking away the hot air was better but I'm not sure.

I'd make it so that the air is being pulled away from the laptop. To me that'd be the most effective way of cooling it.
