Ehh. That cpu won't cut it in cpu intensive games. For max 1080p i'm meaning. Its a dual core so that at least means it can levy everything it has, but there isn't much there to levy. In a couple of years as games become more heavy you'll find a build like this CPU bottle necking the crap out of your system. I'd suggest saving up 15-20gbp more to get yourself an fx 6300, which will run circles around the ageing pentiums.

I realized you linked a Z97 board, and a pentium so i suppose you expect him to oc the cpu to get more? Not every person who owns a comp can oc a cpu via bios. Sure they can learn but a mistake when messing w/ bios can destroy a board and or cpu.

1) Pentium G3258 is a little beast with use of anything below a 280/770, anything more and the GPU won't be used to it's full potential
2) DON'T get a 6300, yes they are good CPU's (I have one) but there are no upgrades from there, 8320 and upwards isn't worth the upgrade. Stick with the G3258 and then you can upgrade to an i5/i7/Xeon later on. Also the G3258 wipes the floor with per core performance as myself and Craigyy leled at with Cinebench a while back
3) Overclocking isn't hard when you watch a 15 min video from the likes of Linus Tec Tips, Jayztwocents, TinyTomLogan etc.... Killing a COU/Mobo is harder than people think.

Not as hard as many people claim though. I've got a couple 89$ door stops in my room from a failing keyboard and bios mishaps. And if you're streaming and doing video editing then the 8350 and 9590 wipe the floor with price competitors in intel. I do agree though as i said that single core performance is much better with the g3 but overall horse power behind the 6300 is much faster, and in a normally and standard optimized game that can make use of more than two cores then the 6300 devastates the g3. Final deal is, if you want the absolute bleeding edge and top of the line no money matters options, then go intel. But if you have a budget and don't want to spend 300$ of it on a cpu that performs marginally better than its 250$ competitor then go ahead and go for it. All power to ye

One can't simply buy an 9590,and expect it to run.

You need:
Decent mobo
Decent cooling

Just to even run the damn thing. There is no need for turning on the heaters in the winter when you have this thing running.

Ovetclocking is s bit harder on Intel than it is on AMD but with a weekends worth of work, you can get a nice OC even if your not up to sratch with this sort of stuff.

I can't see a performance difference from when I had my 8320 @ 4.6ghz to my G3258 at 4.5ghz. That's how good this two core chip is

So is sens the best option for me or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Its not the best build and it wont max out all games at 1080p

Im a bit busy to make you a build but if no one has replied with a better one in a few hours, il make it.

Future..

Upgrade to 8GB of ram.
Overclock the r9 270

maybe add an ssd a lot later down the line.
