Pretty much I have an Xbox 360 E and when I try and plug it in and turn the 360 on it starts loading up fine and then it crashes on the Xbox 360 ring and the power button goes red? However when the hardrive is not in it it works completely fine any ideas guys will + rep and a thank you

sounds like the red ring of death. have been around this many times. the best idea i have for you now is to either get a new hard drive (sounds like yours is corrupted) or you can send it in to Xbox and wait a long while. My suggestion is to get a next gen console and never worry about red rings again.

here is a list of things that have helped me get past red rings in the past

1. unplug everything and let it sit for atleast 30 min.
2. new hard drive
3. send it in for warranty work
4. keep trying to turn it off and then back on
5. use your controller to turn on the xbox or use the acutaly power button on the box (depends on how you normally do it, then try the other, possible multiple times)
6. turn it on by using the eject disc button. i know this sounds weird but i personally used this a few times and it actually worked.


thats all i can think of off the top of my head. as always, more research via google will probably help out out a lot more than this forum will!
