Easily a nuke, granted, no where close, but even if it was a nuke testing, shows enough from the light alone. If it were to be a nuke testing, I'd very much imagine it would be their new R-36M/SS-18 Satan Nuke they're to be expecting to have in their arsenal by 2015/2016.

As for it being a meteorite, I highly doubt it. They would have surely found something by now or it would have caused some noise, possibly even some damage like the one last year did.

Believe me, I'm far from fooled with what my country is doing, I tend to follow a lot on what Russia does. I kinda figured they were pushing at something after they were "threatened" with the whole Ukraine situation. All in all, if something happens, it does, if not, it doesn't, I'm not exactly concerned with anything. Granted, I'm not going to start getting people jumpy with it, saying they're pushing something or not pushing something, but to be honest, it could just be "tests." I'm sure America, UK, China, ect have subs roaming near international waters, jets flying near countries that haven't been spotted yet and whatever else goes on, countries spy on each other, even their allies, so it could literally just be anything else that goes on in the world.

You do know a nuke doesn't have to be anywhere near population for the flash to still be seen right? Especially at night and knowing Russia, it wouldn't be a small nuke, so it would be a bigger explosion, causing a bigger flash to be seen, if it were to have been a nuke testing. I'm not going to say, "oh I know for a fact they were nuclear testing" but it's possible, not unlikely for a country to test new things they're working on, also, no, you don't have to sub in variables for the yield or anything. There are designated testing grounds for things like this, where there isn't a population that will be affected like you think, America has them too, again, not near a population that will be affected like you're trying to say.

Considering that Russia has the worlds least regulated governmental Nuclear, Biological and Chemical industry..............I'm going to go with all of the above.

Very strange how there was no sound. Rules out a nuclear explosion as the fireball last for minutes. Maybe a surface to air missile launch test?

This is quite a phenomenon, allot of speculation but no definite answer. The first and last thing I would have done would've been pulling over and or heading the opposite direction.
