Hey guys so picked up a BMW 328i for drifting up here in scotland. Stripped it out and got a hydro handbrake installed and i was ready to go. The Bmw has now been replaced with an r33 skyline running aprox 300+hp very fun.Drifting has got more popular in Scotland ever since driftland opened and i decided to take this sport up aswell. Yes the skyline i bought was the one i done the drift lessons in, came drift ready and i loved it that much i bought it.
Had the skyline out for the first time this weekend heres a video

Here is a video of me up at driftland for the first time not having a clue what i was doing but having fun. [No Longer Have This Car]
Here is a video towards the end of the day, I was starting to get the hang of things and actually get a few drifts in.[No Longer Have This Car]
On saturday i took up drifting lessons which was by an instructor called Rennie, he is a great guy and gave some helpful tips, for the drifting lessons i was in a skyline with around 300bhp. Here is a video of the drifting lessons.
The drifting lessons helped me for the following day which was sunday and some of the tips helped me i still have to get the videos up of sunday but that will be done shortly.

I was watching the first video there, and the reason that you keep spinning out when you try and drift is that you are oversteering, and you do not have enough throttle.
When drifting, turn the wheel and add a lot of throttle... Once you feel the car shifting, you then have to quickly counter steer with your foot still on the gas pedal. Your drifts were too slow and you were kinda oversteering the first turn. I also disagree with what your instructor said in the last video... He said to "Let the car steer back on its own" or something like that... I believe that you should learn it the hard way so that you know the fundamentals and how you do it. Once you get that down, and you know how to do it, you can let the car do it on its own.
yeah it was a manual transmission.

Yeah watching back at the videos I have realized that I need to go faster. Thats the good thing about the go pro I can watch it back and see my mistakes. Also with the tips letting the wheel go does help because when you let go the wheel will go into oppoite lockby itself. I do trust him but as he is also BDC driver. Was my first shot at it going to go as much as I can and we will see my progression.

Also ive picked up that i have been taking the racing lines instead of going out wide at corners, just something else i spotted when watching back.
