So i'm getting into this site now, barely used it before but have started trying to post useful topics on forums, i've been seeing people with 28 rep etc and was just wondering what the benefits of rep are and also how to get it? this also applies to the gold stars?

You get stars by your post count and you also get rep from your post count and being helpful through out the community. Members can send you rep when you help them.

You gain REP When you help someone and they deside to give you some REP Or It's 25 post for 1 Rep and The stars when you reach a certain number of post your Star will change.

Here shows you how to earn the badges and stars. For every 25 posts, you will get 1 Reputation Power. Other members can give you Reputation Points, 100 Reputation Points will give you an additional 1 Reputation Power.

You may want to note that 25 posts = 1 Rep Power, just like 100 Rep Points = 1 Rep Power just so it doesn't confuse people
