The main reason Cigarettes aren't Illegal is because they were out and popular before the effects of them were found out so to speak, oh, and lets not forget the Tax the Government receive from you... As for drugs & Alcohol, well I'd Say Alcohol is worse for you than Cannabis. Not so sure about any other drugs because I've never took the time to research them. And by the way, this is mostly my opinion. I'd have a skim through the following answers on this, you might be able to nit pick some facts out of here..

Its a recreational "drug". It will never become illegal because the government gets most of their tax revenue from it. Just like Ciggarettes, those 2 items bring the highest pergeentage of tax for what they are.

Also imagine the public response if alchol was made illegal? There would be uproar. Personally i think people think its a right to drink it now because its being drunk fro so long. And also there is the fact that people can make it so easliy to.
