The Phenom is an ageing processor so you could either risk keeping it and just dropping all your cash into a graphics card, but I would do the following.

Lose your current processor and motherboard and get this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Would I not need any more RAM? If so I can probably just save up a bit more.
Thanks for your help.

It wouldn't do amiss at all, however I'd say the processor and motherboard is probably the main thing. Its because processors are usually expensive so you'd be much less likely to change it at a later day.

Couple of options;

Better CPU

Upgraded RAM and slightly better GPU than above. Overclock the G3258 and you could upgrade to an i5 at a later date.

Overclock the G3258, no GPU upgrade but you get an SSD. An SSD is going to be beneeficial for boot/load times but not the first thing you should aim at upgrading if I'm honest, just an option if you prefer it.

Better GPU, no SSD, overclock the G3258. Upgrade to 1x4GB RAM and add another 4GB RAM when you have the money.

I wouldn't even attempt to run GTA V on a Pentium.

With how bad the ports are over to PC & the fact that some games wont even run when you have 2 cores, id get the I5 now.
