I need a good processor for video editing.. Any brand will do. I want it to be able to handle long 1080p edits. Thanks for any help! If you have any questions to narrow it down a little more just reply to this thread.

all depends on what your currency and budget is.

But the best is the i7 5960x

For a processor.. Probably like 200-300 if that could get me a good one

Surely a server grade Xenon would perform better than an i7 at video editing? unless i've got my information backwards :facepalm:

We can't help if we don't know your current specs, mostly the motherboard and PSU. If you have $300, you could get the i7-4790k but you'd need a compatible motherboard, and you'd want a decent PSU before upgrading CPU if your current PSU isn't great.
