I would start it off by bringing up that over 3 years ago he took your xbox, and ever since then you haven't done that bad thing anymore (hopefully haha). Then tell him about your girlfriend wanting to buy you an xbox one. After that he will probably give his opinion on the situation. From then it turns into a normal conversation with your dad. Listen to what he has to say, then say how you feel or what you think, and he should do the same.
