I'm looking to get a 3DS but I want to know if it's worth the price? I haven't played a Nintendo system in forever. So please persuade me!

It is, but only if you're into the titles it offers.
I'm a big Pokemon guy so I enjoy it, but there's also Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc.

I recently got my 3DS XL and I absolutely love it. Best handheld I've ever had. If you have the funds for an XL I recommend you get it.

Yeah it is, depends on the games you like though; For example OOT3d and the pokemon series are great normal DS games can be played on it also, one of my favourite hand-held consoles.
