I am curios to know if we have some members who have been or plan to go to the military. I have been thinking about my future and the direction to take.

I may join the marines for benefits, of course not only reason but it's kind of scary, to leave home and everything behind and risk of dying.

Yes, of course, its a huge decision that will change the rest of your life, make sure you are committed and ready for what is to come if you join any branch!

When I was a bit younger (around 3-4 years ago) I always thought about joining the Military and what kind of outcomes it could have and ultimately decided not to bother.
Risking a life for your country is honourable but I'm just not interested in risking death any time soon.

Have you enrolled yet to a branch or just thinking about it?

If you thinking to go through with it. You better think it thoroughly. Such as what benefits you gain, what happens afterwards, this is not an easy choice. It might sound cool but is very serious. My friend was on a chopper that was gunned down. Needed surgery and was brought back to the states. Now that he is fit, he wants to go back, that is one tough Son of a b%#&. I would go on youtube and do a little research just so you know what you are getting yourself into.

Goodluck

There is a risk in dying with anything you do but keep in mind pain is temporary pride is forever

It went through my mind in high school. I then to really start thinking about it though, and I just can't be ordered to do the things they are ordered to do. Also, if I see things I don't like, I will have to act with or without permission. On top of that, I also found out I have some back issues. Couldn't join even if I wanted to.
