i know this probably isn't the reply you're looking for since it probably wont be helpful but if there is a market crash wouldn't the price drop of the card? meaning you'll be losing money?

Buys them cheap and sells them when the player goes back up in price

When there is a market crash people go out and buy players that they think will rise alot after the market has settled again.
